Position Title:  School Custodian

Job Title: School Custodian

Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable School Custodian to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our students, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the daily cleaning and maintenance of the school facilities, ensuring that all areas are well-kept and conducive to learning.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning: Perform daily cleaning tasks including vacuuming sweeping, mopping, and buffing floors, hallways, restrooms, and common areas.
  • Maintenance: Conduct minor repairs and maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs, ceiling tiles, and reporting larger maintenance issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Waste Management: Empty trash cans and dispose of waste in accordance with school needs.
  • Safety: Ensure that all cleaning supplies and equipment are used safely and properly. Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and hazard-free environment.
  • Set-Up and Take-Down: Assist with the setup and takedown of furniture and equipment for school events, meetings, and activities.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, reporting needs to the supervisor.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with school staff and administration to address cleaning and maintenance concerns in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

  • Background check required
  • Previous experience in custodial or maintenance work is a plus.
  • Knowledge of cleaning techniques, materials, and equipment.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to interact positively with students and staff.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
  • Capability to work with cleaning chemicals and equipment safely.

Work Environment:
This position typically requires working inside and outside a school building. Work schedule will be 10:00 am - 6:00 PM
