NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR
The Network Administrator is responsible for the Lafayette County School District network and all aspects thereof.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Degree in Network Administration or equivalent training or experience
• 4+ years experience working with technology including but not limited to computers, switches, servers, peripherals, and software
• Able to work with a team as well work independently
Have good communication skills
• Experience in the listed duties and responsibilities
REPORTS TO:
The Director of Technology
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
*Work with the district's Technology Director and/or Technicians to plan and maintain network, equipment, technology policies, e-mail, etc.
* Continually monitor and maintain the core infrastructure of the Lafayette County School District Network
* Ability to effectively work and communicate with administrators, teachers, and staff Effectively troubleshoot network and technology-related problems to determine and remedy the problem
* Repair and perform maintenance on network equipment and related peripherals Determine and locate parts as needed for computer maintenance and repairs Independently schedule summer preventive maintenance and routine cleaning of network equipment
* Assist with helpdesk tickets and make sure helpdesk records are up-to-date
* Install network and district software and provide support as needed
* Identify building electrical problems and work with the maintenance department and electrician to resolve
* Manage and update network directory service including student and teacher network user accounts and network resources
* Oversee installation of any devices which will be connected to the MCSD network.
(Cameras, phones, access points, etc.)
* Maintain existing and future networked environments such as IP cameras, wireless access
points, etc.
* Participate in continuing education in an effort to stay current with strict technology.
* Any other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or his designee.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
To be employed twelve (12) months per year
Salary is established by Board policy
EVALUATION:
Performance in this position will be evaluated by the Technology Director annually in accordance with provisions of the Board's policies on evaluation
